A Random Post Before the Year Ends!

I wasn't very productive on this blog for the last three weeks of December.I wasn't even able to make a blog post on Christmas! I've been so busy with my other blog though.But I feel quite ashamed of myself for not having been able to update "Markable.me" when in fact it is my personal blog.

For the first time in my whole life, I've run out of words to say about my life.But there are just things that I believe has to be noted before the year 2010 bids goodbye! So instead of storytelling let me just bullet them down in a list!

• I became part of the Davao Bloggers this Year (April 30, 2010 - at the Meetup with DFAT participants at Jose Rafael Fine)
• Have been able to eat like there's no tomorrow in some parts of DFAT 2010!
•  I started going on media events this year.lol
•  I started blogging this year (although not technically, but yes, I therefore conclude - it's now official, 2010 is my first year in blogging) Basically because I was visible and accessible to bloggers!
• I started earning through Adsense this year.Ha-ha! (February 2010)
• In the month of August, for the first time in my whole life that I've bagged $2000+ in blogging.(Yes, that's five o digits in peso!)
• I swept away my personal blog. (Bluerivenfire.blogspot.com)
• I found my blogging niche. (Pinoymovieblog.com)
• I started another personal blog on October (Markable.me)
• Registered Pinoyzine.net and made it a tech blog but didn't worked well.
• I failed in my major subjects that led into transferring school!
• I became instantly mayabang to some people, because I transferred school. :'-(
• My Grandpa died on 1st of November and I still couldn't believe it!  :'-(
• My first ever trip out of Mindanao - to Manila for WordCamp 2010!
• Attended the prestigious WordCamp 2010.
• Unofficially attended an 8day Fieldtrips and Seminars under my former University.hehe (Unofficial kasi hindi naman ako enrolled sa subject - pa epal lang!)
• Became a Tito (Congrats to Jeoffrey & Ivy!)
• Got appointed as P:resident for our Family Reunions, events and all that.
• Had our first ever Family reunion (Cabrera, de Guzman, Indino) at Isla Beach, Samal.
• Met new friends in my new school
• Posted a "tip" for Blogspot users and saw a direction for this blog.
• Attended the Davao Bloggers Christmas Party for the first time.hehe
• Has been a finalist to the Philippine Blog Awards Mindanao (Personal Category).
• Created a list on this blog (which became my all time popular post) and saw another direction for this blog.
• Initiated a blog project but due to some technical problems I still can't start it this time - reminds me, I need an Adobe Illustrator! anyone?
• My blog "markable.me", was featured on Blogging talks by ate Aileen Apolo.Yehey!
• Got affiliated to Star Cinema and Regal Films (as a blogger - they send me trailers,posters,press release and infos about their upcoming movies).
• Group of 10 won P10,000 and were given P1,000 each of the Hackathon contest using cloud computing platform during DevCon 2010 at Draft Picks.
  
• Attended BlogFest 2010.
• I got my first Infolinks Earnings this year.
• Opened bank accounts - 2 bank accounts.lol 
• First time in GenSan
• First time in Manila
• Been to Enchanted Kingdom twice
• First time in Samal Island
• Got the chance to meet and talk with Ma.tt
• Got a lot of disablement and headaches from Google Adsense
• Met Christine Reyes in person (technically had dinner with her.lol)
• Attended an advocacy program in Manila (and met some Manila Bloggers)
• Met Kuya Jehzlau and kuya Winston
• Got a hosting plan from Kuya Jehz.hehe :p
• Met the FatandFabBros.
• Of course, met "Davao's greatest "Davao Bloggers Team" and "Avatar Media".
• Had 4 Wordpress Blogs this year.
• Confidently knows what I believe to be "SEO".Will only need time and lots of blogs with PR for affirmation.
• First Plane ride! 
• First time ko mag barge to Samal.hehe
• First time nagka family reunion.lol
• Bought my first ever cellphone, some time in March.
• Bought my first ever Laptop just 3 months ago.hehe
• Fell in love with CaliforniaBerry
• Tried Yogo for the first time.
• Liked Noodle House.
• Loss: From 30 to 29. (Summer Break)
• Gain: From 29 to 31.Haha! (Christmas Break)
• Nawalan ng pusa (Si "King") :-(
• Nagkaron ng dalawang echoserong askal.hehe
• Addicted to Facebook, Plurk, Twitter at Piclyf.
• Tried some CSS3 & HTML5 Tricks on this Blog.
• Helped in distributing pens and other school supplies yesterday under Pens of Hope
• Won 8 movie tickets to watch all the entries this mmff 2010.
• Won a t-shirt with Infolinks new logo! Still waiting for it to arrive.hehe
• Basta marami pa.
• Reminds me, marami pa akong backlogs!

To sum it all, 2010 has been a Welcoming Year for me in Blogging! While offline, although there are sad points in my life.I believe I have lots of things, people and happenings to be thankful for/to.

Blogger has unleashed the latest service to hit Blogspot blogs across the globe.With the new blogger mobile templates you will be able to read your favorite blogs on smartphones.Take a look at the screenshot featuring Markable.me in a smartphone!

New Mobile Blogger Templates: Optimize your Blog for your Mobile Readers!

It has already been days since it was released on Blogger in Draft and yet only few bloggers know about this cool new feature.Christmas is coming, a lot of people will probably get online through their mobile so as they could enjoy bonding with family and friends without sticking their faces on a monitor.This, I say, will come on as handy like your mobile phone!

To Enable this Feature:

1. Login to http://draft.blogger.com
2. Go to Dashboard > Settings > Email & Mobile tab
   
   
   
3. Now if you want to see a preview of the mobile template you may click on "Mobile Preview".

4. Now Scroll down and hit that Save Button right there!

5. Finally, you're done.

You may now turn on your mobile internet and access your blog through it and *drumrolls* - Congratulations you have successfully enabled the mobile template feature of Blogspot.

Everyone who will visit your blog via mobile will be redirected to your mobile template page.Aside from automatic redirection other key features of Blogger in Mobile includes the following:

Template support: There are currently 6 available variants of the Simple template and 6 variants of the Awesome template. If you have used one of these 12 templates through our Template Designer, your mobile view will be rendered in the same style as your desktop view (other template variants will be rendered as Simple). Some gadgets are also supported.

Davao Bloggers Christmas Party 2010!

On the 3rd day of December, happened my first ever Christmas Party with the Davao Bloggers.Yes! It's the first time that I will celebrate something Christmassy with them.I was so excited about the event that I did not went to school in the morning.Ha-ha! Nah, really? The reason why I didn't go to school was because I wake up late, as usual.But boy, how lucky I was because I got a message saying we didn't have classes in the morning - like me, the teacher loves to doze too!

In the afternoon, I first went to Doc.Charles' clinic.For some reasons I just wanted to go there, consult him about my teeth having braced in the future (O.o), discuss some for Entertainment-Bloggers-Only stuff.lol, and ask about the event.He's one of the organizers, so I guess I've got to stick around with him as well.I also contacted Kuya Faust prior going to Kuya Charle's clinic.And yes, as planned we made his clinic our rendezvous. (Peace!)

Later on, I together with Kuya Faust went to NCCC Mall to buy some gifts for the party.Doc Charles was supposed to go with us but he decided to go directly to the venue.Then, Kuya Faust and I searched the mall for a unisex item worth at least P100 for the Kris kringle.We went to the Department store, the Toys Section, the bookstore, the food court, the cr, the cinema but still we couldn't find any item worth our budget which is around P150.Haha!

Along the way we chanced upon a fellow blogger, Ate Chattee.Then we headed to Bench and finally came up with something as gift.I bought this cute little tin box with a towel and three daily scent colognes inside for my Monito/Monita (who is by that point of time - I have yet to find out).Kuya Faust got the bag I first chose but since I find the tin-box package whatever more worthy than the bag, I opted with it.

After that we finally arrived on the venue, the Davao Bloggers Christmas Party was held at NCCC Mall B3.As expected most of the officers were early.Awts,We even saw Ate Ria along the way pala, since I didn't notice her - she said "Hi, Mark!" to me.Woot!

I was still in uniform because before going to Doc Charle's clinic I went to school to arrange my records for the release of my school ID.Together with the gift, I bought a shirt to wear for the event.The program for the Christmas Party hasn't commenced yet, so I took the chance to change clothes.Kevin came, Ate Leah, Koya Drew, and then came other Davao bloggers.

For a moment, I had fun observing everyone in the room.Like Ate Joanna geeking up with Kevin and Kuya Faust in playing Angry Birds.Ate Ria and that lady they call "Sexytary" sort of gossiping.Ate Miah taking pictures.Kuya Andrew who was like me, also very quiet then and  Kuya Lyle unboxing his newly purchased LG Optimus or was it some other smartphone Kuya Lyle? Everything is just so Christmassy, that my heart lifts up in Christmas joy. O.o

But anyway, the thought of being with these cool people around me, celebrating something that's going to be worthwhile and fun has never existed in my wildest dreams, not even last Christmas and not until now.Thanks to blogging!

Back to the party! Minutes later, a short program started, then we ate, had the Davao Bloggers Election,had the kris kringle and I received the bag I firsst chose at Bench which Kuya Faust had chosen (Uyy.joke lang).Btw, many thanks to Ate Ria for the handy dandy bag.

Then Ate Ria also presented a round up of the all the activities spearheaded by the Davao Bloggers for the year 2010.Surprisingly, I was on most of them! This is actually my starting year as a Davao blogger, Yes and I call it official.Then the rest was history! Ohh..wait, after the party we went to the coffee shop just so we could hang out a bit more.Hehe!

The whole night was indeed full of food(Yeah.Delicious ones), raffles, prizes, photo shoots, fun and surprises.

I Vote for Life With Ria in the Pinoy Bloggers Choice Award 2010

I am voting for Life With Ria in the Pinoy Bloggers Choice Award 2010 simply because I frequent her blog for interesting reads.But since I feel like making this post a bit complex like some of her sickness which are also hard to pronounce.And as complicated as she naturally is; Then let this be a post about my Ate Ria and why she deserves to win the Pinoy Bloggers Choice Award.

Looking back, some time in between the months of April and May was my first engagement with the Davao Bloggers.It was the first time that I met most if not all of them in person.It was during the Meet Up of Davao Bloggers with the DFAT Participants at Jose Rafael Fine Coffee to be exact.

The meet up gave me this very awkward feeling of being out of placed.Like I'm surrounded with people who lives a fancy life.People who had been going back into coffee shops with their laptops, people who acts and talks *mayaman* and people with cars.I am therefore, a stray cat lost in a mansion full of Glameows.LOL.

Among the cats around, I mean people around.There is just one fabulous looking woman that took my attention and drove me so intimidated as hell that I shut my mouth whenever she passes by or says something.She's no other than Ate Ria.

Intimidating as she may be at first.But when you get to know her she's actually a lovable person who you'd always get intimidated pa din.Haha! I don't know if I'm the only person to get intimidated and who always feel scared (Yeah.like talking to our school librarian) whenever I talk to her.Perhaps, the reason behind this is that she has this mala-Kristeta aura.Yes, I'm talking about Kris Aquino.Rich, superior and has always something to say about people or things.Siguro, takot lang ako na may masabi sya about me or anything or it could also be that I could see myself on how I assumed her to be - gossipy.Talagang Madaldal lang kasi ako with friends.awts!

But last night, during the Davao Bloggers Christmas Party I was wondering how I did not feel intimidated when she called my attention.Bongga! Feel ko tuloy close na kami.Then the next thing I did was to ask her for a link exchange (kasi nga assuming ako eh.lol).But she refused, but she honestly pointed out that she doesn't do exchange links at all.So para hindi ako mapahiya, I told myself and her in a way, that I'm going to win a link to her blog(Hopefully with this!).

Now let me talk about her blog and of course why she deserves to win the Pinoy Bloggers Choice Award.Like what I've told you, I frequent her blog.That is without her, even campaigning for her post on social networks.I visit there not just because I follow her to get invited to events (sort of.lol) but to know what she has to say about things.She's an Ate I always look up into and somebody who you don't wanna mess up with.(As what her rumored best friend told me ;-P)

Also, in every time she sends me sms regarding events I always seem to have this feeling that I am so lucky to have been acquainted with her.And so my first press conference came, followed by another, then small meet ups and we got even more connected.And with that I think I owe her a lot.And it's not just because I feel like I owe her something that I voted for her but I believe that in the 6 years that she BLOG it's about time to give her what she truly deserves.

In fact within that span of time, she was able to accomplish some really really great things like being the. .

*PBA Mindanao Division’s Best Food and Beverage Blog this year (Kusina Maria)
